Interactive Test and Certification Tool for a standardised, quantified neurological examination and assessment of Kurtzke’s Functional Systems and the Expanded Disability Status Scale in Multiple Sclerosis
Neurostatus e-Test is a web-based interactive test and certification tool for physicians, using a standardised scoring system for the Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) and its Functional Systems (FS), the Neurostatus.
Since 2004, Neurostatus e-Test has been used worldwide to certify EDSS Raters participating in MS and NMO studies conducted around the world.
The certification process ensures that the EDSS Raters are familiar with the Definitions of Neurostatus/EDSS before examining patients in clinical practice and capturing data with the Neurostatus Scoring Documents or the NESC iPad. This process is supported by sophisticated EDSS training modules improving inter- and intra-Rater reliability.
EDSS Raters have three attempts to pass the e-Test and achieve the predefined level of qualification. Three different levels of qualification are available to meet individual clinical trial requirements. If unsuccessful after three attempts an additional e-Test trial can be requested after completing a short questionnaire. A valid qualification can be extended to additional studies if the study specific requirements are fulfilled.
The online administration tool offers various add-ons to manage e-Test activities and EDSS Rater qualification statuses. Additionally the download centre accessible for assigned study administrators enables quick access to study related data.
